How is it different from microblading?
The intended result is the same: hairstrokes. The difference is the tool.
- Microblading: a blade opens the incision by hand.
- Nanoblading: a very fine nano needle on a machine deposits pigment point by point until the stroke is built.
Because the needle is finer than a blade, the line is softer, the trauma lighter and healing faster. But its limits are microblading's limits: a fine line is still a fine line, and on oily skin its edges spread.
Who it suits
- Normal to dry skin with no previous work on the brow.
- Anyone wanting softer strokes than microblading gives.
- Anyone uneasy about a blade who prefers a machine.
And who it does not suit
Oily and combination skin, and any brow with previous work. Some claim nanoblading suits it because it is "finer" — it is not true: the fineness is the problem, because a thin line spreads at the edges with oil. Better: powder brows or micropigmentation.
The session and aftercare
- Consultation, skin type and any previous work.
- Measuring and mapping on your face, and nothing begins before you approve it in the mirror.
- Topical numbing, then building the strokes.
- Seven days with no water directly on the brow, two weeks with no pool, sea, sauna or hard exercise, and no picking the flakes.
