I began as a portrait artist. A face on paper, and a pencil searching for the line that belongs to its owner — not the prettiest line, the right one. In those years I was awarded a certificate and medal from the Greater Amman Municipality for drawing at the Arab Artists Exhibition.

In 2013 I moved the pencil from paper to skin. The difference is that paper forgives an eraser; a brow does not. So my work starts not with the needle but with measuring and drawing, and we go no further until you have seen the shape in the mirror and approved it — exactly as I used to show a sitter the portrait before signing it.

This chair has been sat in by artists, broadcasters, content creators and well-known faces from Jordan and beyond. Those whose names appear here posted with me on their own accounts — and whoever would rather not be named is not named. But what I learned from them is about you — a face that is photographed often cannot carry a brow that looks drawn on, because the camera shows what the mirror hides. That is why I work one hair at a time, and measure before I pick up the needle, with every client and not only with the well-known ones.

No surprises. These are the full steps of the appointment, exactly as you will experience them.

Consultation and skin assessment

We talk through your expectations, assess your skin type, hair density and any previous brow work, and settle on the technique that suits you best. If your skin is not right for a particular technique, we will tell you so plainly.

Design and measurement

The shape is drawn with an erasable pencil and measured against your facial proportions — start, arch and tail — then the shade is chosen in front of the mirror. We do not move on until you are completely happy.

Topical anaesthetic

A medical numbing cream is left on the area until it takes full effect. The sensation during the session is usually described as a light scratch, and most clients find it entirely manageable.

Who is the most skilled or best eyebrow artist in Amman or Jordan?
Whether you ask for the most skilled, the best or the most talented brow artist, it is judged by results, not adverts, so ask about four things: real work photographed after healing, not straight after the session; years of experience; training and certificates; and whether the artist tells you honestly when a technique does not suit your skin. Fame alone does not guarantee a result that suits your face, but it shows who people trust. Does a brow tattoo affect wudu (ablution)?
In every permanent brow technique — microblading, micropigmentation, the fiber technique, nanoblading and powder brows — the pigment sits inside the superficial layer of the skin, not on top of it, so it forms no barrier on the surface the way nail polish does, and water reaches the skin once healed. Dr. Muhammad Dhawi Al-Usaimi said microblading is permissible. For the first seven days after the session, direct water on the brow is avoided, so anyone wanting the ruling for those days should ask a scholar she trusts.
My brows look too dark after the session — will they stay like this?
Yes, and it is completely normal. For the first 3–5 days the colour looks up to 40% darker and sharper. Then peeling begins and it lightens considerably — around day ten it may even look faded, before coming back and settling. The true result is only judged after 4 weeks, so do not judge it early.
How much does brow tattooing cost in Amman?
Prices at Alaa Al Masri's studio in Abdoun, Amman, in Jordanian dinars, including the consultation and the design: Microblading is 180; Nanoblading is 180; micropigmentation 200, Powder brows 150, and the fiber technique 250. Lip blush 200, eyeliner is 250 for the upper and lower lid together; and Brow removal is 75 per session, and may need more than one.
What is the difference between microblading, nanoblading and powder brows?
The three differ in tool and outcome. Microblading is drawn by hand with a blade for realistic hairstrokes, and suits normal to dry skin best. Nanoblading uses the same strokes but with a machine and a finer needle — a thinner line, less trauma and faster healing. But like microblading it is not suitable for oily or combination skin and not for brows with previous work on them. Powder is dotted shading that gives a made-up fullness and lasts longer, and it is the first choice for very oily skin. Fiber is fine hairstrokes, the most natural and the longest lasting.
Which brow technique suits oily or combination skin?
Microblading and nanoblading are not suitable for oily or combination skin — a stroke is a fine line, and oily skin widens and blurs it so the result loses its precision quickly. But that does not mean strokes are off the table for you: the fiber technique is the newest technique, the closest to natural and the one that suits every skin type best, giving fine hairstrokes that last one to three years. After it comes micropigmentation which suits every skin type; Powder brows which is the first choice for very oily skin. Is brow tattooing painful?
We use a topical numbing cream, left on until it takes full effect before we start and reapplied during the session if needed. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratch or a surface tingle that is entirely bearable. Sensitivity can be slightly higher just before and after your period, so it is best to book away from those days.
How long does brow tattooing last?
It varies a great deal by technique: Microblading and nanoblading last 3 to 9 months, because a hairstroke is a fine surface line that fades faster. Powder brows last about a year, micropigmentation 1 to 2 years, andthe fiber technique 1 to 3 years. As for Lip blush it lasts 2 to 3 years, whileeyeliner reaches 3 years, because eyelid skin renews more slowly. Do I need a touch-up session after brow tattooing?
Yes. The touch-up at 4–6 weeks is a core part of the procedure, not an optional extra. Skin absorbs a share of the pigment while healing, and in this session we reinforce the areas that lost colour and fine-tune the final shape and shade.
My existing brows have turned blue or red — can they be corrected?
In many cases yes, but it depends on how dark the old colour is and how far it has shifted. Send us a clear photo in natural light on WhatsApp for an initial assessment. Some cases need removal or lightening sessions before new work, and we will be straight with you if direct correction is not possible.
Is there a patch test before brow tattooing?
Yes. We recommend a simple pigment patch test 24–48 hours before your appointment, particularly if you have a history of skin allergies or a reaction to hair dye. The test is quick and free.
How long does a brow tattoo appointment take?
Allow two to two and a half hours for the first visit, since it includes the consultation, the design and the numbing time. The touch-up is shorter — around 45 minutes.

Aftercare for brow tattooing — half the result is in your hands

Following these instructions protects the colour and speeds up healing — keep them with you.

24–48 hours before

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Stop blood thinners, aspirin and vitamin E — after checking with your doctor.
  • No plucking, waxing or tinting of the brow in the week before.
  • Postpone facial peels or laser treatments by at least two weeks.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunburn beforehand.
  • Come with no makeup on the brow area.

For 7–10 days after

  • Blot the area gently as instructed, and apply a very thin layer of ointment.
  • No direct water on the brow for 7 days, and avoid hot shower steam.
  • Never pick the scabs — let them fall off on their own, or you will lose colour.
  • No pool, sea, sauna or strenuous exercise for two weeks.
  • No makeup on the brow until peeling is complete.
  • Use sunscreen on the area once healed to preserve the shade.
When we will decline the procedure
During pregnancy or breastfeeding; with uncontrolled diabetes or blood clotting disorders; when there is inflammation, an open wound or eczema in the brow area; or during isotretinoin (Roaccutane) treatment and for 6 months after stopping it.
