Why does tattoo colour shift?
Old pigment loses its components in a different order: the warm tone goes first and the cool one stays, so the brow reads blue or grey. In other pigments the opposite happens and it turns red or orange.
This is not fixed by working over it: new pigment adds to the old rather than replacing it. The old colour has to be lightened first.
How removal works
- Assessing the case: how deep the colour sits, its tone, and how many layers of previous work there are.
- A lightening session that targets the old pigment and lifts part of it.
- Full healing over 6 to 8 weeks before the next session.
- Repeating until the colour is light enough for new work.
After the session
- A scab forms within days. Never pick it — picking leaves a mark.
- Seven days with no water directly on the brow.
- Two weeks with no pool, sea or sauna.
- Sun protection matters throughout the lightening process.
And after removal?
Once the colour is light enough, we choose the new technique by your skin type: micropigmentation works best over previous work, powder brows suit oily skin, and microblading suits normal to dry skin if the brow is clean enough.
