Brow micropigmentation before and after — work by Alaa Al Masri in Abdoun, Amman

If you are looking for micropigmentation in Amman, this page gathers what you need to know before booking: what it is, what it costs, how long it lasts, how it differs from microblading, who it suits, and how the session goes at the Alaa Al Masri studio in Abdoun.

What is micropigmentation?

Eyebrow micropigmentation is a permanent brow technique, newer than microblading: very fine hair strokes that mimic natural hair, drawn one at a time by a fine needle on a machine, looking more natural than microblading strokes. The procedure is superficial and done under topical numbing.

Micropigmentation vs microblading

The key difference is under the skin: microblading opens an incision with a blade, micropigmentation does not cut the skin. No incision means no edges to spread, which is why it suits skin microblading does not, and lasts longer.

Where micropigmentation sits among the others There are four hair-stroke techniques, ordered from the oldest to the most natural-looking: microblading (a manual blade — the classic technique), then nano blading (the same principle with a finer needle), then micropigmentation (newer than both, and closer to natural), and finally the fiber technique (the most natural-looking of them all). The price follows that order: JOD 180, then 180, then 200, then 250. Powder brows sit outside this ladder, because they are dots rather than hair strokes.

Who micropigmentation suits

  • Oily or combination skin, where microblading strokes spread within months.
  • A brow with previous work, once the old colour is lightened enough.
  • Anyone wanting longer wear than the three to nine months microblading gives.
Not directly over every old brow Very dark colour, an odd colour such as blue or red, and two brows drawn in different shapes are not worked over directly. The case is assessed at the consultation, and may need removal sessions first.

How a micropigmentation session goes

  1. Consultation: skin type, any previous work, and what you want.
  2. Measuring and mapping: I draw the shape on your face, and nothing begins until you see it in the mirror and approve it.
  3. Choosing the pigment to match your skin and hair.
  4. Topical numbing, then drawing the hair strokes with the machine.
  5. Instructions: ointment and written aftercare before you leave.

Micropigmentation aftercare

  • Seven days: no water directly on the brow.
  • Two weeks: no pool, sea, sauna or hard exercise.
  • Do not pick the flakes, they pull pigment out with them.

In the first week the colour is darker than the final result, then it settles, softer and more natural, so do not judge the result before healing is complete. After a month you see something close to the final result — see a healed first micropigmentation session in Medium brown on Instagram.
