What does microblading look like after one week?
After one week the brow looks darker and sharper than the final result, and there may be some dryness or light flaking. This is normal during healing and it will not stay. Here is what happens after one week, one month and one year, and when to judge the result.

A few days after a microblading session you look in the mirror and the brow is darker than you expected; a few days later it looks lighter than you wanted. Many women worry at both stages, and both are a normal part of healing. Here is what happens, in order.
What does microblading look like after one week?
After one week the brow is darker and sharper than the final result, and there may be some dryness or light flaking. Many women worry the colour will stay like this. It is normal during healing, and it won't stay.
In the first 3–5 days the colour looks up to 40% darker and sharper, then flaking starts and the colour lightens a lot; it may even look faded around day ten before it comes back and settles.
Microblading after one month
After a month the colour settles clearly and becomes lighter, softer and closer to natural, showing the result closest to the final shape. The real result is judged only after 4 weeks, so don't judge it early.
Microblading after one year
After a year the colour has faded a lot, because microblading lasts 3 to 9 months. It varies with skin type, sun exposure, exfoliation treatments and how fast the skin renews, and the brow may need a refresh session.
| Stage | How the brow looks |
|---|---|
| First 3–5 days | Up to 40% darker and sharper |
| After one week | Darker than the final result, with dryness or light flaking |
| Around day ten | May look faded before it comes back and settles |
| After 4 weeks | The colour has settled; this is when the result is judged |
| After 3–9 months | The colour fades, and a refresh session may be needed |
Aftercare in the first two weeks
- Seven days: no direct water on the brows.
- Two weeks: no pool, sea, sauna or strenuous exercise.
- Don't pick the scabs: they pull the pigment out and leave permanent gaps.
- Don't judge the result before healing is complete.
If the colour fades too soon
Microblading and nano blading don't suit oily or combination skin. If that is your skin, micropigmentation or the fiber technique suits you better, because both suit every skin type. See also: microblading and oily skin.
